- The Novell Client is a software system that allows access and monitors
individual users in a network environment.
- Each student has an individual account. This account includes a folder
to contain all of your work. You can access your work on any school
computer. (No Macs) (Drive H:)

- Warning: Usernames and Passwords are controlled by the District Office
and are extremely difficult to change. Do not allow others to have
access to you account. Do not write down your username and password in
the same place.

- Username: Use all lower case letters. Type your last name and first
initial of your first name. No spaces.
- Exception: If you have a common last name (ie. SmithE, or JonesT), try
adding the last two digits of your Student ID number following your
name. (SmithE68)

- Passwords are a combination of your student ID and the DAY of your
birth. (1029999+12=102999912)
- Exception: Juniors and Seniors generally use their whole ID number. New
students should “drop” the 1 in the beginning of the Student ID.
(029999+12=02999912) Do not place a 0 if your day is less than 10.

- Open My Computer
- Find the H: drive (it has your name)
- Double click on the H: drive
- This is where your work will be stored.
- Do not erase any files until you check with your teacher. You will have
files from all of your classes mixed together.

- All student must sign one. It came in the summer mailing or registration
packets.
- Be careful what sites you are visiting. Your computer use is monitored.
- No gaming. This practice uses much of our available bandwidth. This may
slow down other users.

- Some classes have special drives that will be available for you.
(Business and Industrial Arts)
- When you are connected to these classes you will have additional drives
named “Template”, and “Turn-in”. Your teachers will explain what to do
with these drives.
